Tried & Tested: This Metal Detox treatment revived my brassy, blonde hair

Eighteen months ago, I moved from Westmeath to Dublin. While the move was absolutely needed for me and my social life, it was not so beneficial for my hair! 

Two months after my move, I went home to Mullingar to visit my longtime hairdresser, Melissa. The first thing she said was, “What the hell happened to your hair?”. To her, my colour had quite obviously changed. For me, the change was less noticeable, as it had happened gradually over time.

According to Melissa, my once clean, blonde hair had taken on a brassier tone with some green hues. The only change in my life had been my move to Dublin 15, which is known for its hard water. Melissa then explained how the metals in the water can massively affect our hair, and mine was proof.

The treatment

Pros

Thankfully, my hair has not turned green since. My hair colour and condition are in a great place but I have a strict routine and product list that I stick to.

I wash my hair two to three times a week using a shower head filter. Each wash includes two shampoos and one condition followed by applying the Metal Detox oil on damp hair before I blow dry. I have not strayed from L’Oréal Professionnel’s Metal Detox products, and I don’t intend to going forward.

Results

Since using the Metal Detox treatment and at-home haircare, I’ve noticed a massive difference in my hair. It’s been smoother and shinier, and it holds a much brighter, appealing blonde colour (as opposed to its former brassy hue).
