Guest Editor Darren Kennedy’s top five pieces for you to wear this spring

Today on IMAGE.ie, TV presenter, columnist, and all-around style expert Darren Kennedy is here to take the editor’s reigns. All day on our website and social media, you can catch Darren giving his perspective on beauty, fashion, lifestyle and more, as he takes on the new role of guest editor.

Darren Kennedy is a stylish man.

He can wear a suit better than anyone but knows exactly how to work the casual look too. And he does so with ease. He has an innate understanding of what the modern man should be wearing. However, he’s not just an expert in the world of men’s fashion–he knows a thing or two about women’s style too.

From hosting his own fashion show on RTÉ called #Trending to fronting style slots on ITV’s This Morning alongside Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield – he’s a bonafide fashion expert.

So when we heard he was going to be our Guest Editor for the day we knew we had to jump at the opportunity to ask him what we should be wearing this spring.

And his five choices will slot seamlessly into your wardrobe.

A Khaki boilersuit

This is the perfect casual addition to your spring armour when paired with a pair of white trainers and a crossbody bag. The khaki colour is a fresh update on the denim versions of late, and the cotton fabric is easy, breezy and ideal for when temperatures rise.

Denim dress

An A-line denim dress will never go out of fashion. Hints of 1960s cool radiate from this style and it an be dressed down with trainers and ankle boots, but equally works well with a pair of dressy heels and matching bag.

Floral pussy bow blouse

For a more fashion-forward piece, this graphic, floral pussy-bow blouse will add flair to the simplest of outfits. Because this shirt does all the talking, a pair of straight leg jeans will complement it perfectly, as will a black pencil skirt, meaning it has the ability to be office appropriate too.

Loafers

Possibly the most versatile item for spring months, the loafer is quite simply a classic. This Gucci-style pair from & Other Stories is perfect for office wear or dressed down on Sundays and looks equally well under a spring midi skirt or dress.

Equestrian buckle loafers, €89 at & Other Stories

Animal print earrings

Accessories have the ability to alter every outfit with zero effort, and these River Island beauties bring just the right amount of animal print to an outfit. Paired with a white shirt and jeans, or clashed with a printed dress, there is a place for them in your accessories stash.
