From key pieces that will elevate your summer outfits to destinations that have you daydreaming of bikinis and Hugo Spritz, here is Erris Burke's cool girl guide to summer.

Erris Burke is an Irish content creator based between the UK and Ireland. Alongside creating her lifestyle content, she also runs her own social media agency, Erris Creative, creating strategic content for brands and artists.
She has amassed almost 300k followers across her social channels, where she documents her outfits and life experiences. When it comes to fashion, Erris is known for combining masculine and feminine elements to achieve an aesthetic she calls ‘tomboy femme’. And when it comes to summer, Erris knows a thing or two about keeping things spontaneous, pleasurable and chic.
From key pieces that will elevate your summer outfits to books that will spark your creative flow and destinations that have you daydreaming of bikinis and Hugo Spritz, here is her cool girl guide to summer.

What’s your summer in three words?

Spontaneous, free and unplanned.

What song is this season for you?

A-Lister by Romy Mars is my current summer song for sure. I wish Spotify had a way to tell me how many times I play a song every month, because it is on constant rotation for me.

What are you wearing this summer?

Surprisingly, I have been loving capri pants. I thought the day would never come, but now I am truly obsessed. They feel timeless, and even when styled with just a simple tank top, they look glam.

What’s your signature summer item?

So, there are two items on my list. First, I think a loafer has the power to make any outfit cuter. Then I have also been loving accessorising my looks with claw clips, especially statement ones like this option from ASOS.

Where are you shopping?

My current favourite brand is Damson Madder. This set is a real favourite of mine from there, and I have received so many compliments when wearing it.

Who is your summer style muse?

Usually, I piece a lot of inspiration together from girls on Pinterest rather than one particular person. However, I do always enjoy how put-together Hailey Bieber looks. I think she has nailed cool and casual summer style.

What’s your hot-weather beauty non-negotiable?

A tinted SPF. The L’Oréal Paris Daily Fluid Tinted Glow has been my go-to. You can use it on its own for a little more coverage or use it as a base, but make sure it dries fully before applying the rest of your makeup. The glow it provides is just the right amount.

What’s your perfect summer day?

If I am in London, it is a park day. I love setting up for a few hours with a big group of friends, a speaker and some M&S snacks – what else could you want? I also love to host. A massive BBQ at mine is also such a fun day. Then, if I am not in London and have access to a pool, it has to be a day spent lounging by one. My friend recently got married in Italy, and the second day of her wedding was a pool day with a food truck and very competitive pool games.

What’s the best summer destination?

Honestly, it has to be the South of France. It gets extremely busy in summer and can be overwhelming, but if you can find the little pockets of quiet and source a pretty beach, it’s the best! I want to explore more of Ibiza too, not just the party side, because I keep hearing how amazing it is.

What are you eating this summer?

I made the most delicious kale pasta last week, and it will now be my go-to. It’s delicious, and all you need to do is put all the ingredients into a blender, and it’s done!

What are you drinking this summer?

I have moved from an Aperol Spritz to a Hugo Spritz this summer, and it’s delicious.

What’s your desert island book?

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert is amazing if you are looking for some inspiration as you sit by the beach, and Lauren Graham’s Have I Told You This Already? If you are a Gilmore Girls fan, this will be a really exciting read for you, but in general, it’s simply stories of her life. A real, easy, relaxing one.

What’s one thing you’re saying yes to more this season?

For me, it’s saying yes to things you can do, even if it’s tricky to fit in or feels hard to organise – just do it. Because we do have enough time, and you end up having so many fun experiences if you say yes to as many opportunities as possible.
