Content creator Louise Cooney celebrated her marriage with fiancé Mark in the breathtaking surrounds of Cashel Palace. With plenty of lively entertainment and elegant details, it was a night to remember!

THEY MET

We met online during Covid; our first date was one of those socially distant walks we were all so fond of!

THE PROPOSAL

Mark proposed while we were on a picnic on the cliffs in Spanish Point, Co Clare, with our then 9-month-old son, Jude. Mark had the most gorgeous ring made; my sisters helped. Spanish Point is a special place for us – we’ve spent lots of great times there with my family, and we had our engagement party there with both of our families two days after. It was such a lovely time.

THE WEDDING ATTIRE

My dress was Milla Nova from Verona Bridal in Belfast, and Mark’s suit was from Louis Copeland.

THE CEREMONY

We had our ceremony in St Michael’s church in Tipperary town. Both my parents are from here, and this church is right across from where my dad grew up and made his communion and confirmation. We’ve spent a lot of time here over the years, so it was lovely to get married somewhere that was so special to my family as well as to us.

We had the talented Sinead O’Brien singing, my friend Niamh O’Brien on harp, and a violin and cello as well, which made for a gorgeous string quartet. We asked Father Chris from Limerick to do our ceremony; he also married my sister and her husband. He did a lovely, personal and funny service that we enjoyed so much!

THE RECEPTION

We had our reception in Cashel Palace in Cashel town. We loved the friendly staff, the beautiful decor and the food was out of this world!

THE ENTERTAINMENT

We had Luke Thomas & The Swing Cats for our cocktail reception; they played swing and jazz and it was such a vibe.

Walking into our dinner reception, we had Nicole Lonergan on electric violin. We walked into Viva La Vida, so you can imagine the violin at the start of that! She also played in between courses and kept the party going.

For the dancing after dinner, we had The Event Band, who are just out of this world!

THE DECOR

We had Kate from Perfect Details do our flowers and decor. She and her team did a wonderful job. We had lots of candles, white roses, baby’s breath and black ribbons on the candelabras, which tied into our table menus – we had place names tied to the menus with a black bow. Of course, it was Christmas as well, so we had the beautiful trees in the room and glittering lights everywhere. It felt magical!

THEIR TOP TIPS

My top tip is a tip I was given in advance of the day: take time as a couple, just the two of you. The day flies by, and those moments allow you to stop and take it in.

THEY WISH THEY HAD

I can’t say I would do anything differently!

THEIR BEST MOMENTS

We both say our first look and the speeches were up there with our favourite moments from the day. The first look felt so personal and special; we were so happy and excited! And the speeches, they were just so good!
