Ireland’s first dedicated cancer support magazine is now on shelves

Happy Magazine is Ireland’s first dedicated cancer support magazine. Until now, it has only been available online, but founder Holly Kennedy has just launched its first ever print edition.

What is Happy Magazine?

Holly was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2016 at the age of 32, and she says, “Happy Magazine is the resource I longed for when I was going through my own treatment – the tool to show me how you can still be happy, even during cancer.”

Realising the need for a magazine like this, she set about making it happen. The website (and now the print version), publishes relevant, positive and helpful content for anyone going through cancer, as well as life afterwards. Happy Magazine offers encouragement, motivation and support to both the person who’s sick and their families and friends.

How and where to get a copy

“I am delighted to let you know that the first print issue of Happy Magazine is finally here,” Holly announced this week. ”I received the magazine from the printers last week and have since distributed them all to our 30 distribution locations across Ireland.”

The magazine, which contains 56 pages of helpful content, is completely free from each of the following locations:

“My goal with the print magazine is to reach people who haven’t heard about Happy Magazine yet; to find them in their hospital or local cancer support centre, and let them know that we’re here online with new content every day, to help them through their cancer journey,” Holly said.

She went on to thank all of the generous sponsors who made printing the magazine possible, as well as the contributors who shared thought-provoking and inspiring articles.
