Seven granddad-inspired knits to raid from your old man’s wardrobe

Seven granddad-inspired knits to raid from your old man’s wardrobe

I’m thanking Gucci for reinventing grandpa chic. If you’ve been saving your grandfather’s knit for countryside strolls, think again. There’s an abundance of high-fashion designers and high-street retailers giving this old man-inspired style a new lease of life.

I have an undying love for anything cosy. There’s been subtle talk about snow on the horizon, so I’m screaming for extra warmth, wherever I can find it. Embrace grandad style in jacquard prints, argyle patterns and vintage wool. When you’re raiding through your old man’s snug-weather wardrobe, look for knits in extra large and tuck them into high-waisted jeans, or wear with a mini-dress for a more feminine look. You could even layer your knit with a dark-wash turtleneck.

So ditch chunky dad sneakers and light-wash mom jeans. Turn instead to coffee-hued cardigans, cable pull-overs and woolly button-downs. Here is a curated edit of seven granddad knits you can buy on the market right now. Grandpa’s everywhere, beware.
