Walk this way for 9 expensive-looking winter boots that cost under €100

It’s finally the time of year where our footwear mainly consists of boots. They are a necessity but they don’t have to break the bank. We found nine chic options that cost less than €100.

Outside of coats, boots are a winter must.

Ask any woman about her wardrobe necessities and boots will always make an appearance. Diamonds might be traditionally a girl’s best friend, but for the modern woman, I think it is boots. From ankle to knee-high to combat, we are now spoiled for choice. But with increased choice, comes an elevated feeling of indecisiveness. Where do you buy? What style is better?

And what about the cost?

Things to look out for

Boots are often seen as an investment buy, but if you search hard enough you will find some gems at a great price. The high-street is full of beautiful designs which could easily fit within the high-end bracket. To achieve this, there are some important aspects to consider.

Be aware of the finish of a boot. Leather lasts and nowadays, a pair doesn’t have to cost an extortionate amount. Zara provides some great options at a purse-pleasing price.

Shine on the material of the boot adds the appearance of luxury and a croc-style effect will always look expensive. The Mango boots below possess both and look a lot more than €35.99.

Be aware of the sole of a boot. This isn’t just important for comfort levels but for the overall look too. A light sole can often cheapen the appearance of boots – and the quality is usually under-par, meaning you will be making a trip to your local cobbler much sooner than expected.

Look out for details. Laces and patterns add an extra design element, making the boots a little bit extra-special. Jewels on footwear can often appear naff but when done right (such as on the ASOS and River Island pairs below) are a fantastic way to update a classic.

Where to buy

Topshop has a solid collection. The Celine-inspired cream Mara leather boots are on our list. Zara, as always, is here to help with any sartorial needs and has a range of styles with everything from combat to thigh-high options.

While ASOS, Marks & Spencers, Mango and all the rest of the usual suspects have something stylish to offer.
