Leandra Medine’s Mango collection has just dropped and it’s a vintage-inspired dream

Leandra Medine’s Mango collection has just dropped and it’s a vintage-inspired dream

Lovers of Man Repeller rejoice — founder Leandra Medine’s Mango collection has just dropped, and it’s everything we’ve been hoping for

We love a good winter drop here at IMAGE — cosy coverups and dresses made for tights are kind of our thing (especially when the weather has turned like this).

So upon hearing that the founder of one of our favourite online style bibles (and one of our favourite Insta-style icons herself, to boot) Leandra Medine was creating a collection with high street mecca Mango in this exact vibe, we were excited.

Leandra Medine founded online publication Man Repeller in 2010 as a personal blog, and it quickly grew to one of the best-loved fashion and lifestyle websites in the US, regularly updating us with Office Apropos outfits, fashion week musings and plenty of inspired shoots.

Medine herself boasts 887k followers on Instagram, where she shares impeccably styled outfits along with her daily life as a media mogul and mother of twins, Laura and Madeleine (or Madelaur, for short).

The collection

On first look, the edit has a pleasingly Man Repeller-esque aesthetic straight off the bat, complete with manicured-cursor and a kitschy promo video showing the idea behind the collection.

Medine aims to create a collection that encapsulates each facet of herself (of which there are five) — the Selfie Master; the Proud Mama; the Media Leader; the Cool New Yorker and the Witty Journalist.

In Medine’s own words, the inspiration behind the collection is “New Year’s Eve in a European ski town meets 1960s American college campus with a couple of embroidered floral prints thrown in for good measure”.

The pieces are at once timeless and just-on-trend-enough to be worn time and again and still look modern. Expect cropped knits, 70s basics and the perfect embellishments to finish them off.
