Junior Beauty Editor Holly O’Neill here, reporting to you from day two of London Fashion Week!

After much deliberating over what I was going to wear for my first Fashion Week, (do you have a week’s worth of great outfits? No. Me either.) I can tell you that I needn’t have bothered.

It’s been bucketing down for the last 48 hours in London. Thankfully, I packed the most responsible and most-worn item in my wardrobe — my beloved, chocolate, crocodile-effect vinyl trench from River Island. Tonight, I will be raising a glass to Storm Dennis, without who, I wouldn’t have blended so seamlessly into the fashion crowd.

Who are all wearing waterproof trench coats. Truly, London is a sea of wipe-down trench coats.

The most common shades are earthy tones — deep green, toasty beige and rich browns, and frequently worn with a similar shade of polo neck or jumper underneath, and often worn with a pair of leather trousers — the effect is way less The Matrix than you’re picturing.

Scroll down to see the best shots of the street style set, wrapped up in waterproof trenches.
