We all have our own sartorial addictions.?Mine is cardigans, believe it or not. For my mother it’s handbags (and scarfs, although that’s partly because I keep gifting them to her). Since she was a teen, my best friend has had an obsession with earrings. They’re as inherent to her personality as shoes are to Carrie Bradshaw’s. On that note, I’ve never quite understood the stereotypical female obsession with shoe shopping. I struggle each season to find footwear I love enough to invest in (unlike cardigans???).?This summer, however, is proving to be an exception to that rule. From Prada to Parfois,’my wish-list is almost as weighty?as my knitwear drawer.
Wedges are my favourite summer shoes anyway, but these Prada beauties are exquisite. The ornate detailing on the wedge, the mixed metallics at the toe and the elegant ankle strap make them feel so special.

I love flat sandals that translate from day to evening.?I’ll wear these tan sandals with a maxi dress for a night out, and linen trousers for day.
These shoes are top of my shopping list right now. I love the robust block heel – high enough to make me feel elegant, but not so spindly that I can’t walk comfortably. Animal-print is a great look for summer too. It works wonderfully with white, denim and adds an earthiness to pastels.
Nautical always feels fresh at this time of year. I’ll be wearing these striped wedges with a navy polkodot shirt dress.
This is a great shade of yellow to try, as it’s got some depth to it. These flats will smarten up denim?beautifully.
