The annual Cannes Film Festival might be known as a showcase of the world’s greatest film talent, but it also plays host to some of the biggest and best red carpet fashion moments of the year. We’ve started to dissect our favourite sartorial moments so far, but the beauty served at Cannes is equally important. Glowing skin, bold lips and elegant up-dos ruled have ruled much of the carpet so far. Scroll for more highlights…
Fresh-faced Fanning’s go-to stylist, Jenda, created a dreamy crown braid-accented with flowers that perfectly pick up the floral print of her voluptuous Valentino gown.
Fanning’s porcelain skin is the focal point here. Subtly brightened up with soft shades of pink on her cheeks and lips, and just hint of winged liner defined her upper lash line, she looks youthful and fresh-faced.
Fanning went full classic Hollywood with black liner and dramatic red lips (courtesy of the L’Oreal Paris Red Carpet lipstick). Her hair was styled in a jumbo chignon by stylist Jenda Alcorn.
Celebrated makeup artist Patrick Ta – who will be appearing at our IMAGE Beauty Festival next weekend, details HERE) gave Ambrosio a perfect a power pout, her rich red lips matching her dress and earrings. Striking and elegant in one.
Heard’s side-swept sculptural hairdo was perfectly offset with feline-shaped eyeliner and contoured skin, thanks to L’Oréal Paris.
Makeup artist Hung Vanngo’s classic combination of rich, red lips with thick, dramatically winged black eyeliner, both by Marc Jacobs Beauty merged perfectly with Selena Gomez’s sleek, modern french-twist (created by celebrity stylist Marissa Marino) in what was one of the most elegant beauty looks to arrive on the Cannes carpet.
Moore wore bronzy-toned make-up with a nude lip to let her striking emerald Dior gown and accompanying jewels to all the talking. Her hair, styled in elegant, barely-there waves means the look is relaxed glamour as opposed to going over-the-top.
The model matched her make-up to her dress, with plum tones on her lips and eyes.
Feline eyeliner-flicks are most definitely a beauty favourite on the Cannes red carpet, with Priyanka Chopra being another to opt for a classic look with Hollywood waves, full brows and a matte plum/pink hue on the lips.
