EXCLUSIVE: Inside Jessie Buckley’s Oscars beauty look with makeup artist Nina Park
Following her Oscar win, celebrity makeup artist Nina Park reveals the inspiration, techniques and products behind Jessie Buckley’s radiant red carpet beauty look.
When Jessie Buckley stepped out last night, her Chanel beauty look was a perfect study in modern red-carpet elegance: glowing skin, softly defined eyes, and a diffused red lip that felt effortless rather than overly polished.
Behind the look was celebrity makeup artist Nina Park, who drew inspiration directly from the actress’s striking ensemble. We caught up with Park after the event to get an exclusive breakdown of the makeup she created for the now Oscar winner.
The inspiration
For Park, the starting point was Buckley’s Chanel dress, which featured striking red and pink tones. Rather than competing with the bold palette, the makeup was designed to complement and enhance it.
“The inspiration for Jessie’s look came from the colours of her dress,” Park explains. “With the striking red and pink tones, I wanted the makeup to feel harmonious.”
The result was a look centred on glowing, radiant skin and softly blended colour.
“Soft, radiant skin paired with a diffused red lip highlighted her natural beauty,” she explains. “While also maintaining an elegant and understated finish.”

While the overall aesthetic leaned towards understated glamour, the lips provided the focal point. Park opted for a softer, more relaxed red lip than the traditional, sharply defined version often seen on the red carpet.
“For Jessie, the goal was to create a red lip that felt elegant and lived in,” she explains. “To do this, I layered CHANEL Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue in Daring Red over CHANEL Le Crayon Lèvres in Rouge Cerise, pressing the colour into the lips for a subtle, diffused finish that complemented the rest of the look.”
Meanwhile, the foundation of the entire look was Buckley’s luminous complexion. Park began with a series of hydrating skincare products to smooth and prep the skin, creating the signature glow that carried through the finished makeup.

Lightweight complexion products were then layered to enhance the skin’s natural radiance rather than mask it, a technique that kept the overall effect glowing, glam, but still with a natural touch.
