The Cannes Film Festival isn’t just about the movies; the festival also marks an important date in the diary when it comes to red carpet fashion. It’s a sartorial platform of incredible gowns and designs – a tribute to the grandeur of Hollywood and creativity of the fashion world.

Sometimes risks are taken, more often the choices classic, but either way, the dresses, suits and those who wear them are quite a sight to behold.

Highlights include the youngest Jury Member in the history of the festival, actress Elle Fanning in a silk peach Gucci dress with exaggerated cape, and then in a voluptuous floral Valentino Coutre gown, Selena Gomez’s knitted Chanel two-piece and Chloë Sevigny, who opted for a Mugler thigh-high split gown for the occasion has us wondering why she’s not featured more on red carpets.

Seasoned Cannes favourite Julianne More wowed in flowing green Dior and Gomez’s wearing of a white Louis Vuitton leather and satin bustier and belted skirt also looked extremely chic. Model Alessandra Ambrosio went for a number of daring looks, one of which was an embellished Ralph and Russo Spring 2019 Couture white silk chiffon draped gown to the 2019 Cannes Film Festival opening premiere of The Dead Don’t Die.
