The blunt bob is the ultimate party season hairstyle

The blunt bob is the ultimate party season hairstyle

Blunt bob, but make it accessible? I wish. This haircut was a mere pipe dream for me, but there are so many celebs making the look their own right now, I feel like anyone could (and maybe should?) give it a go…

Blunt bob babes

Selena Gomez’ one set my heart alight when I saw it. Firstly because it’s so, so elegant and beautiful — see below — and secondly because, and I mean this, a good hair cut can make or break you. Hair is a safety blanket, and Selena is wrapping hers tight around her for the winter.

I’m obviously beside myself with jealousy that a look that divine could never be mine — don’t have the follicles, don’t have the budget to buy fake ones — but how utterly gorgeous does she look?

Just like Selena, Dua Lipa has been sporting her multi-coloured bob of late, aside from the monstrous but quite glam fake ponytail she wore to the recent American Music Awards.

I’m no Kaia

Kaia Gerber, daughter of modelling icon Cindy Crawford, has become a mainstay on every catwalk from London to Milan to New York. She went for the chop during the summer, before it was the ‘It’ cut, leading the way for so many to follow.

I too went for the (in hindsight, somewhat ill-advised) blunt chop during the summer, on the advice of one of Dublin’s best hairdressers. She was completely correct in what she did — she knew my hair needed chopping — but I regretted it the next day when I found I had neither the cheekbones nor the patience for a style like that.

Bobs at home

Irish model Kelly Horrigan went sharper than sharp recently with her hair, following the trend as she enters party season. Needless to say, Kelly has the face for a bob like that and pulls it off so well it’d almost tempt me back. I said almost.
