If you like the buzz and convenience of living near a town (or city) centre, one of these terraced homes could be perfect.

Although some long for the peace and quiet of the countryside, others prefer the buzz of an urban centre, always having people around them (not to mention the ability to walk to shop when you run out of milk).

If this sounds like you, then check out these four terraced town or city centre homes, all on the market for €200,000 or under. From a tiny two-bed to a few rather spacious ones, there’s options to suit a variety of needs.

2 Derby Terrace, Saint Michael’s Street, Tipperary Town, €200,000

town centre terraces

This spacious, mid-terrace home is less than five minutes walk to the centre of Tipperary town. Inside it is in great condition, with rooms that feel bright and welcoming.

A long kitchen and dining area has space for the whole family to gather, while there are two living rooms to relax in with high ceilings and decorative cornicing. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, while a small yard to the rear and a well-kept front garden comprise the outdoor space.

No. 30 The Glen, Waterford City, €199,000

town centre terraces

This Victorian home is another one that is deceptively spacious, and also has three bedrooms. Less than 10 minutes’ walk from the heart of Waterford, it is also located close to plenty of shops, schools, and the wonderful Waterford Greenway.

Inside the rooms feel bright and modern with some period features preserved. At the rear there is a raised patio surrounded by planting, a lovely place to relax on a summer’s evening.

2 Saint Anthony’s Villas, Old Youghal Road, Dillons Cross, Cork City, €198,000

town centre terraces

Slightly smaller with two bedrooms, this Cork property is really lovely inside, with wooden floors and large windows throughout all the main rooms.

Less than half an hour’s walk to the very centre of Cork city, there are a host of amenities on your doorstep, as well as plenty of schools and sports facilities nearby. A small paved garden to the rear also provides an outdoor space.

76 Eugene Street, Dublin 8, €195,000

town centre terraces

This two-bedroom cottage is the smallest of our four properties, but it does have the benefit of being less than half an hour’s walk from St Stephen’s Green and Grafton Street.

The main space combines kitchen, dining and living room, with a high ceiling helping it feel larger, while two modest bedrooms and a bathroom make up the rest of the home. There is also a small yard to the rear.
