Dublin vs Cork: Four homes to buy for €300K or less

Looking for somewhere to live but struggling to find your dream home? Allow us to help. We found four properties across Dublin and Cork cities (all of which are in turn-key condition), for €300,000 or less. Could one of these be ‘the one’ for you?

59 Church Road, East Wall, Dublin 3 – €295,000

This charming two-bedroom house at 59 Church Road has been lovingly maintained by its current owners. The kitchen is fully fitted with all mod-cons, the living room is spacious, and off-street parking is available too. While the interiors in the bedrooms and bathroom could do with updating, the house is in turn-key condition. Plus, the property is just a 10-minute walk from Dublin City Centre. If you don’t fancy going that far, a range of shops and cafes are a two-minute walk away. The area is also serviced by the Luas red line and Dublin Bus routes 151, 14, 15, and 27.

4 Wilson’s Terrace, Meath Street, Dublin 8 – €295,000

Located on a mature, quiet cul-de-sac off Hanbury Lane, this terraced house at 4 Wilson’s Terrace is deceptively bright and airy. With three double bedrooms, it would make a comfortable family home. The interiors are stylish and modern, while the kitchen is fitted with a gas cooker and integrated fridge. What’s more, the house is located within walking distance of the city centre, St James’ Hospital and numerous third level colleges. An on-street parking permit is included in the price, though public transport facilities are aplenty too. The area is serviced by Dublin Bus routes 123, 13 and 40.

9 Manor Road, Manor Farm, Lehenaghbeg, County Cork – €300,000

Just a 13-minute drive from Cork’s city centre, this semi-detached house at 9 Manor Road is a must-see. With three double bedrooms (plus two ensuites), a large family bathroom and downstairs WC, it’s an ideal family home. The kitchen is fully fitted with an integrated oven, hob and extractor fan, while a built-in dishwasher is included for convenience. The living room is spacious and connects to the dining area through an archway, which is ideal for entertaining. What’s more, a patio area to the rear of the property is perfect for al fresco dining.

Marian Park, The Lough, Co. Cork – €295,000

Situated within a 10-minute walk of Cork’s city centre and University College Cork, this 2010-build at Marian Park is a steal for €295,000. Accommodation includes a garage conversion which was completed in 2015, including a pitched roof and Velux windows for a modern, spacious kitchen/dining area. The property also boasts a second kitchen area, which could be used by tenants if renting out a room. Alternatively, it could be converted into a fourth bedroom by the new owner. Upstairs, you’ll find three bedrooms (two doubles, one single), as well as fitted wardrobes and an ensuite.
