Three beautiful holiday homes to rent in Ireland right now

It may have taken a while but summer has finally arrived. If you fancy a seaside staycation in Ireland, check out these holiday homes available to rent right now

Sometimes, you just have to get away. Be it with the family, your best friends or a hen party, an escape to Ireland’s countryside can be exactly what the doctor ordered.

The joy of a staycation is that you can pack whatever you want. With no liquid or weight restrictions, you can bring your whole wardrobe and then some. Plus, you can fill the boot with as much wine and as many snacks as you like.

While the holiday homes listed below might seem pricey, they each sleep eight people or more. When the bill is split so many ways, you’ve got yourself a bargain.

Cloud9, Redcastle, Donegal
€2,500 per week

This luxury coastal cottage in Redcastle, County Donegal, has sweeping views over Lough Foyle. The four-bedroom house has been architecturally designed to maximize the unobstructed view of the sea; with floor-to-ceiling glass in the kitchen, lounge and master bedroom.

Despite the home consisting of so much glass, it remains warm in the winter, thanks to geothermal underfloor heating. What’s more, there are various living areas and a games room to enjoy.

If you’d rather get out to explore the area, nearby activities include kayaking at the Inish Adventures Centre, the Inishowen Maritime Museum and Planetarium, as well as various nature walks along the Wild Atlantic Way.

Knockcarrig House, Killarney, Kerry
€2,443 per week

If you’d prefer a greener, more rural setting for your week away, this five-bedroom house in Killarney, County Kerry is for you. Surrounded by sprawling meadows and 20 acres of farmland, it’s a haven for tired city-dwellers. Located just off the N22, the house is an ideal base for touring the Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Beara.

With a dining table that seats 10 and a number of living areas to choose from, there’s plenty of space for the extended family to relax. If you need a break from the group, enjoy a book beside the fire or take a walk around the nearby Kerry lakes.

Silver Birch House, Glengarriff, Cork
€4,500 per week

Set on a private estate surrounded by lush vegetation and woodland, this luxury lodge in Bantry Bay has 11 spacious bedrooms, including nine en-suites.

It’s a tranquil property with exceptional views over Glengarriff Harbour, down to which the kitchen gives walking access. What’s more, a built-in sauna and games room make it a perfect getaway for all the family.

Silver Birch is one of a handful of holiday rentals in Ireland to receive the coveted Five Star award in 2014. They proudly accommodate large groups for parties, family reunions and conferences. Meanwhile, the nearby village of Glengarriff is home to restaurants, cafes and a golf club.
