This modern yet cosy house in Wexford will set you back €425,000

If you fancy country-living with modern amenities, this Wexford house is on the market for €425,000


Have you ever wished you could escape to Ireland’s sunny southeast? With its breathtaking views of both sea and countryside, not to mention its bustling towns and nightlife, Co Wexford seems to have it all. Throw in its rich Viking history, famous opera house, and kind, local people; it’s an idyllic place to live.

Hawthorn Lodge is a spacious, contemporary property near Gorey in Co Wexford. With an A-rated BER certificate, it’s an ideal home for families who are sustainability-conscious.

This glass (indeed, all the windows in the house) are triple-glazed and argon-filled, which means they are top of the range for insulation.

Elsewhere, there are three large double-bedrooms; one of which boasts a walk-in wardrobe. Two of these have modern ensuites, while the third has direct access to the main family bathroom.

What’s more, estate agents at Sherry Fitzgerald O’Leary Kinsella say one of the bedrooms is so spacious it could be divided into two smaller rooms, if necessary.

Outside, there is a large garage which can double as a workshop. This could also be transformed into a granny flat or playroom should the new owners wish to do so.

On the other side of the property, a patio area is perfect for al fresco dining during the summer, while approximately an acre of land (including well-kept lawns) is ideal for children to play in. That being said, security gates may need to be installed for safety.
