We’re loving coloured glass at the moment, from blush candlesticks to sepia vases

Whether you want to inject some retro 1970s glamour or just a hint of warmth, these pieces will introduce subtle colour to your space.

Coloured glassware is having a real moment, popping up again and again on our Instagram feeds and in plenty of new-season collections.

We can see why — as well as bringing a subtle touch of colour to a space, it’s also something that will look even better as spring edges closer, and the sunlight illuminates it on bright days. They’re also functional pieces, whether it’s a candleholder, jug, or vase, they serve a purpose as well as looking great.

Here are nine that we’ve got our eye on.

coloured glass
Brown Farida Glass Vase, €32, April and the Bear

A vase that looks good even when it doesn’t have anything in it sounds like a pretty good deal to us, and the warm brown tones of this one along with its sculptural shape make for a gorgeous combination.

Fine glass mustard candlestick, €24.95, House of Indi

Elegant yet with a modern feel, we absolutely love the sunset tones of this undulating candlestick, guaranteed to make even a weeknight dinner feel fancy.

Hyacint glass vase, €47.27, Nordic Nest

Made from mouth-blown glass and available in a smoky or sepia shade, these gorgeous Broste Copenhagen vases would be perfect to show off a bunch of blooms, or even just some seasonal foliage.

Sepia Glass Jug, €28, Article

The perfect way to add a seventies vibe to your table, this handy jug has matching mugs it can be paired with to really lean into the look.

Bubble Vase in Recycled Glass, €16.99, Stone + Beige Interiors

Made using 100 per cent recycled glass, this vase is lovely for those who prefer cooler tones, and would make a great centrepiece on a dining table.

Echasse Vase – Small, around €170, Maven

This delicate vase sits on elegant legs, making it particularly eye-catching on a coffee table or mantlepiece. Made by Danish brand Menu, it’s available in several colours from Belfast store Maven.

Horizon beaker €38 and Carafe €80, Irish Design Shop

These beautiful carafes and beakers are handblown at the Jerpoint workshop in Thomastown, Co Kilkenny, and will add a wonderful touch of brightness to your table.

Burgundy brass ring flower vase, €12, Haus Concept Store

This hand blown vase has a more Art Deco style with its gold detailing, and is currently less than half price, making it very good value.

Glass bowl with raised design, €5.99, Zara Home

This sweet little bowl would be handy for everything from relishes to snacks, while its retro design adds a touch of cool. There is an accompanying range of mugs and teacups, so would also work as a sugar bowl.
