Chic Summer Workwear

Chic Summer Workwear

Practice makes perfect. And if we had enough sunny days in Ireland to warrant putting the time in, we’d all have summer workwear down to a tee. But it’s one sartorial challenge that can beat even the best of us – how to look chic and professional in summer without resorting to basic black. Here are some inspiring ideas from the stars of the street.

Make the simple swap from black to white. It’doesn’t have to be any more radical than that. This tailored two-piece looks super smart, and fresh too. Perfect for the boardroom and the bar.

If you’re after a more directional look, opt for oversized tailoring. Fluid pieces feel lovely and cool in summer, but?the traditional button-front style of the shirt and creased pants maintain a?look of professionalism.

When reimagined in sharp tailoring, pastels look anything but saccharine. The black patent brogues also anchor this look,’making it office worthy attire. I’d skip the cropped top – a crisp white shirt or silk T-shirt would be a better choice for work.

Soften black for summer with a subtle print. The addition of a blush-hued jacket creates a more feminine look, yet the 1980s-style double-breasted cut’suggests power and strength.

Embrace colour. Bold shades can look strong and polished within the?a smart’silhouette. Don’t be afraid of print either – just don’t let it overwhelm you.

Turn traditionally Disco-esque metallics on their head by pairing them with a chic blouse and elegant court shoes.?Let the metallics lead the way, though, by keeping everything else soft and subtle.
