Join us for IMAGE The Motherload Christmas: Fireside with Miriam O’Callaghan

You're invited to an evening of conversation and celebration with renowned broadcaster and mum-of-eight Miriam O'Callaghan.

As the first year of IMAGE The Motherload comes to a close, we couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate than with our special guest, Miriam O’Callaghan, and an evening of conversation, connection, and festive cheer.

Join us for a very special IMAGE The Motherload Christmas at Avoca Kilmacanogue on Wednesday, December 3, for a warm and celebratory evening dedicated to connecting, reflecting on the year, and raising a toast to all.

Hosted by Dominique McMullan, editorial director of IMAGE Media and host of IMAGE The Motherload, the highlight of the evening will be an intimate fireside chat with Miriam O’Callaghan, one of Ireland’s best-known broadcasters and a mother of eight. Miriam will speak candidly about motherhood, resilience, family, and the lessons she’s learned navigating life’s highs and lows, all in her inimitable, warm style.

Adding to the festive spirit, the evening will feature live music from Jon Sadlier, creating the perfect backdrop for celebration.

Together, this special gathering will explore how to embrace the chaos of motherhood, carve out time for yourself during the festive season, and celebrate the joys – and the humour – that come with raising a family.

Meet the speaker

Miriam O’Callaghan, broadcaster and mum-of-eight

Miriam O’Callaghan is one of Ireland’s best-known and most respected broadcasters, with a career that has spanned decades and defined moments in Irish public life. A mother of eight, she has balanced a demanding professional life with the deep fulfilment and challenges of raising a large family… an experience she speaks about with honesty, humour and heart.

Throughout her career, Miriam has brought intelligence, empathy and integrity to her work, covering every major election, referendum, controversy and national milestone for television. As the host of her award-winning RTÉ Radio 1 programme Sunday with Miriam, she has become a trusted and familiar voice to listeners across the country, known for her ability to draw out the humanity behind every story.

Miriam’s life has not been without loss or challenge. She has spoken candidly about the profound grief of losing her beloved sister and father within months of each other, and the personal upheaval of her first marriage ending in the same year. Yet her story is one of resilience and optimism, a life defined not by perfection, but by perseverance, compassion and perspective.
