Gucci sent its models to the happiest place on earth for their new Disney-themed campaign

The words ‘Gucci’ and ‘Disneyland’ aren’t exactly ones you’d expect to see in the same sentence, but one of 2020’s first fashion campaigns has seen the two together in perfect sartorial harmony.

Looking towards Chinese New Year (kicking off on January 25), Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele is celebrating the Year of the Mouse early, with the world’s most famous rodent himself.

The new collection, which is available today from Gucci online, features Micky Mouse on many of its pieces, along with the iconic Gucci monogrammed logo, and the brand’s notable vintage-style aesthetic.

In the campaign, models including Earl Cave, Ni Ni and Zoë Bleu head to Disneyland to show off their 2020 attire. In a promotional video for the shoot, the stars ride the Teacups, dance with the marching band and are guided around the Magic Kingdom by Micky himself.

And their outfits? Just as joyful as the location. As always, Gucci stuns with its granny-chic look, with tweed cardigans, headscarves, sweater vests and loafers all made to look fresh and youthful as ever. We particularly have our eye on the floral reversible bomber jacket — which will set you back €2,800.

Check out the shoot in full above, and our five favourite pieces from the collection here.
