If you still associate Clarks with school shoes, then it’s time to move on. They are SO comfortable, and there are some really contemporary styles in store now. Whether you’re working, running around after kids or simply shopping, a pair of brogues is a great option for those of you on your feet all day. They can be styled with jeans or smart trousers. Given that the days are beginning to brighten up, choose a brogue in a fresher shade than black or brown. This nude pair is perfect as we move through early spring.

The Premium Quality collection in H&M is well worth a look, as it offers comfortable, good-quality footwear at a reasonable price. These boots are completely on tend, plus they have a low block-heel, which is great for running around in.

Having met one of the & Other Stories’ shoe designers in Stockholm, I know that comfort and quality are key parts of the design process. These mid-heel green suede pumps are on the top of my wish list right now. Ideal for when I’m on the go and need my look to translate from day to evening, these shoes will work as hard as I do.

Buying shoes on the high street can be tricky as they don’t always deliver on comfort in the way that you want them to. But the last pair of Chelsea boots I bought in Topshop served me incredibly well. They are so comfortable, I did a 10k walk in them over Christmas. I’ve had them about three years, and they’re still in great shape. These red suede boots are definitely worth trying on as I think they’ll deliver too. Plus the red suede will look super with jeans or a skirt and will elevate the most basic of outfits.
