Smart Casual with Sinéad Burke and Angela Scanlon

Smart Casual is IMAGE’s first fashion podcast, in collaboration with Kildare Village. In our bi-weekly chats, we examine why we wear the clothes we do and deal with personal style in a way that speaks to you.

When we first confirmed that Irish fashion icons Sinéad Burke and Angela Scanlon would be joining us for a live episode of Smart Casual, we could hardly contain our excitement. Two Irish powerhouses who have made their mark both at home and abroad in the global fashion conversation, being featured on an IMAGE podcast? We knew it was going to be good. But even we couldn’t have imagined what a brilliant chat our special guests and hosts would have when they sat down in Dublin’s Medley to chat about all things fashion.

Our guests need no introduction, but in case you may have missed them…

Sinéad Burke, contributing editor to British Vogue and long-time fashion activist, made her mark on the Irish fashion scene by being a voice for men and women with disabilities who still want to be fashion forward. Moving to international advocacy, Sinéad now rubs shoulders with the world’s top designers while speaking for a more inclusive future of fashion.

Angela Scanlon began her career in styling, and retained her distinct confidence in her personal style throughout her success. Now a successful presenter and broadcaster in the UK, Angela is regularly recognised for her impeccable style and sense of fun with fashion, both at home and abroad.

Both Sinéad and Angela gelled together beautifully on stage at Medley, giving us an episode full of brilliant anecdotes, invaluable advice for success and plenty of laughs. Our hosts Dominique, Marie and Niamh asked about their journeys to success, visualising their wardrobes, their attitudes to sustainable and responsible fashion and how they see fashion progressing in 2019. It was a full, fun chat and we can’t wait to hear what you think. Listen below and make sure to like and subscribe.

Episode 7 of Smart Casual, in collaboration with Kildare Village, is available now on SoundCloud and iTunes – make sure to like, subscribe and rate us wherever you enjoy your podcasts. Smart Casual is hosted by Dominique McMullan, Marie Kelly and Niamh O’Donoghue, and produced by Erin Lindsay. If you can’t wait to download, have a listen to the new episode below:
