No nice top, no problem: wear a cropped blazer with your jeans instead

by Freya Drohan
02nd May 2019

Your Saturday night “out-out” outfit just got a welcome update.

Leave it to Gigi Hadid to make an itsy bitsy satin blazer and baggy cargo jeans look runway ready.

Like when the supermodel stepped out for a party at Saks Fifth Avenue in collaboration with Virgil Abloh’s cult favourite streetwear line Off-White in that exact look. Naturally, like any fashion muse worth her salt, Hadid was kitted out in a look by the brand that isn’t currently available to shop yet. Still, no doubt there’s a waitlist filling up somewhere for her cropped blazer and mom jeans, both from Off-White’s Autumn Winter 2019 collection.

The model-turned-Instagram style maven always manages to nail a look that’s both youthful and unique, while also being widely influential among her legions of followers. Don’t be surprised if this ensemble starts trending on streets and social feeds – after all, we saw how chokers exploded in popularity thanks to Hadid and her sister Bella’s endorsement.

Here’s how to beat the crowd to the finish line; just add your baggiest 1990s-inspired jeans and a retro croc bag (shop Hadid’s exact one here) for the pièce de résistance.
