Lennon Courtney Launch SS16 For Dunnes Stores

After a phenomenal response to Lennon Courtney’s debut season with Dunnes Stores in September 2015, their much anticipated follow-up, Spring Summer 2016, launched on the 20th of February. With 35 years’ of fashion experience betweeen them, the duo’s designs are informed by a shared philosophy that focuses on developing clothes and styles that are uniquely tailored to the shape of modern women.?This latest collection, titled Inspire, is a reaction to the many women who have influenced and informed Sonya and Brendan’s fashion collections and designs, from their Mums and friends, to women in business and the arts. Lennon Courtney’s Sonya Lennon says of the collection, ?our designs have always been informed in some way by the women we’ve dressed, admire and love. This collection is our dedication to them.?

Sophisticated yet playful are the trademarks of this collection, with work friendly navy’s and black interrupted with lighter shades of oat, bright whites and cerise pinks. There is a simplicity and understatement to the Lennon Courtney core wardrobe, with beautiful feminine shapes and lengths, however much like the designers behind the brand, Sonya Lennon and Brendan Courtney, fun is to be had in the smaller details; pockets where possible, a cheeky shoulder and those pops of irresistible colour.

The collection includes beautiful basics that should be included in every modern woman’s wardrobe; tailored midi trousers and culottes in stone and black, the pencil skirt in black and navy, a classic white jumpsuit, simplistic white tee with a frilled hem and the feminine oat coloured Olywn dress and great separates like the cocoon shaped jacket.

The Lennon Courtney Dress still plays a pivotal role and there are some stand out shapes and styles from the form fitting Rosaleen dress, in signature midi length to the beautiful flare of the Olwyn dress in navy with contrast black inserts. Excitingly we see some great separates coming through this season with items like the elegant cocoon shaped jacket in white, or the beautiful tailored midi trouser in stone and black.

?Lennon Courtney joins the company of esteemed Irish designers Carolyn Donnelly, Helen James and Paul Costelloe, who in recent years have been trail blazers for Dunne Stores repositioning as a serious fashion house, with luxurious fabrics and modern designs at accessible price points.

Lennon Courtney is available now to buy exclusively from selected Dunnes Stores nationwide and online at www.dunnesstores.com.

The former ‘Off The Rails’ commentators launched their first collaboration with Dunnes Stores in September 2015 after 5 seasons of their own fashion label.

Dunnes Stores has been part of the fabric of Irish life for over 70 years offering a mix of contemporary fashion, stylish homewares and quality assured food. Textiles have been at the heart of the business since its? beginnings back in 1944 and today Dunnes Stores offers a carefully selected range of fashion forward designs including in-house labels and collaboration’s with leading Irish designers.
