Everyone has copper hair now

So many of us turned to bright, semi-permanent hair dye over lockdown – Boots reported that searches for ‘pink hair dye’ shot up by over 900%. There was also a phase of what we called Pumpkin Spice Hair, and the latest hair trend is a richer, more luxe take on that flaming cinnamon orange. A shining, bright auburn called copper hair, has reached a tipping point.

Blame Miranda Hobbes for the copper craze taking over your TV favourites. Post-Euphoria High, Alexa Demie has chopped her hair into a pixie crop, but three other cast members – Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney and Barbie Ferreira – have switched up their hair to copper. Sophie Turner has also returned to her Sansa Stark roots, and the worlds of sports and music has been caught up too – Naomi Osaka, Serena Williams, SZA, Doja Cat, Ciara, Kelis and Halle Bailey all have swapped to a coppery gleam, and Kendall Jenner is the latest to join in, sporting a new copper look on the Prada catwalk at Milan Fashion Week.
