The ingredients to know for starting your anti-ageing routine in your twenties

Here’s your cheat sheet to the gold standard ingredients that everyone should have in their routine.

Around the age of 27 or 28, the signs of ageing start to appear: think sun damage, collagen decline, less elasticity and free radical damage. Are you ready to take the plunge into an anti-ageing routine? The first step – get yourself a daily sunscreen. Next step, these are the ingredients to know…

Retinol

AlumierMD 0.25% Retinol Resurfacing Serum

You’re either very familiar with retinol, or you’re vaguely aware that it’s something you’re supposed to be using. Here’s why retinol is so well-known: it can even your skin tone, keep the skin hydrated, stimulate collagen production, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and increase your skin cell turnover, helping to target a range of skin concerns from dark spots and cystic acne, to discolouration and hyperpigmentation. As you also may know, it comes with a lot of sensitivity and irritation issues. AlumierMD has tackled these, with a microencapsulated retinol, AlumierMD Retinol Resurfacing Serum. It comes in three strengths – 0.25%, 0.5% and 1%, and is released slowly into the skin, meaning the peeling, dryness and redness associated with retinol is completely avoided. Age-dependent, if you’re just starting your retinol journey, you’ll start on the 0.25% and a trained AlumierMD professional will help you gradually increase strengths as your skin health and tolerance to retinol improves.

Vitamin C

AlumierMD EverActive C&E + Peptide

Vitamin C is one of the most powerful  ingredients to protect the skin from ageing, thanks to its ability to stimulate collagen, brighten the skin, reduce pigmentation, damage and redness and it acts as an antioxidant to protect the skin from ageing. As you may know, vitamin C is notoriously volatile, but with innovative packaging, AlumierMD has tackled the stability and oxidation challenges of vitamin C to create the most optimally active vitamin C serum available. You get three bottles of vitamin C in a set, with about a month’s worth in each bottle, with two chambers in each bottle, which you activate yourself, mixing vitamin C crystals in one chamber, into serum in another chamber. The result? The freshest, most effective vitamin C serum money can buy.

Lactic Acid

AlumierMD Bright & Clear Solution

Lactic acid is a lesser-known alpha-hydroxy acid. Its powers include accelerating our skin’s process of exfoliation, drawing in moisture to hydrate the skin, tackling uneven skin tone, pigmentation and ageing, plus protecting the skin’s barrier by improving the production of ceramides. Find it in AlumierMD’s Bright & Clear Solution, a skin conditioning solution that refines skin complexion with lactic acid, soy amino acids, soothing arnica and bisabolol, vitamin C-source Superox-C™, plus smoothening and brightening Lime Pearl™.

Antioxidants

Alumier MD Alumience A.G.E. Serum

Put simply, antioxidants fight free radicals that are ravaging your skin and accelerating the ageing process. As well as defending your skin, they soothe and calm it and prevent wrinkles and fine lines. Inside the Alumier MD Alumience A.G.E. Serum, you’ll find a blend of antioxidants, specialised peptides (peptides are the very foundation of your skin, responsible for its texture, strength and resilience), plus a whole load of other skincare heroes like amino acids, moisturising vitamin E and vitamin C. Add Alumience A.G.E. Serum into your routine for daily protection from pollution, UV skin damage and free radicals.

Visit a trained AlumierMD professional to discover how you can reach your unique skincare goals. They’ll provide a full skincare consultation and build a bespoke regime, tailored to your individual needs. For more information and stockists, please visit alumiermd.ie.
