The best hero hair products for under €12 according to the experts

Want to know which hero hair products the experts love? Well, now you can because we asked them

As women, it seems we are preconditioned to always be on the search for new hair products. Whether its shampoos, conditioners, hairsprays, masks or serums – it’s a neverending story of online searches.

Luckily, with the IMAGE Business of Beauty Awards only weeks away, we have some of the countries best hairstylists on hand to provide us with some golden nuggets of hair wisdom.

Nominees in the Best Bloody Brilliant Blowdry category know what it takes to get great hair, and we wanted to know about their hero products; those smart, bottled creations that don’t cost a lot but can transform our hair.

Here we asked some of them to name their hero product for under €12 (and we have put each immediately into our shopping basket).

L’Oreal Colour 10 in 1

Thiago Carvalho of Maven Hair Studio says when used before or after hair colouring this hero product, “helps blow-dry the hair, is anti-breakage, helps reduce the appearance of split ends and protects against the look of frizz.” Priced at €12, we are sold.

Schwarzkopf got2be Glued Hairspray

According to Craig Fitzpatrick of Sugar Cubed, a little goes a very long way with this product. “It has an extremely strong hold without the wetness you get from traditional hairsprays and it retails for only €4.79.”

Invisibobble

For Cian Kavanagh of The Salon at The Shelbourne, his favourite budget product is a certain type of hair bobbin. “My favourite hair product is the Invisibobble (spiral hair bobbin) which is €4.95 euro for a box of three. These bobbins mould around the hair in the ponytail to prevent the hair from breaking from tightly pulled bobbins.

Batiste Dry Shampoo Travel Size

At €1.75 these Batiste travel size dry shampoos are a steal and Gemma Murphy, of Dylan Bradshaw’s salon is a big fan. “These are a great handbag staple. It is a great little product to have to freshen up your blow-dry or add texture to the hair.”

These are just some of our very talented nominees in this year’s IMAGE Business of Beauty Awards. Voting ends at midnight, Friday March 6. For voting terms and conditions, click here.

IMAGE BOB 2020 will kick off at 6:30 pm with a cocktail reception on Sunday, March 15, at the Clayton Hotel on Burlington Road in Dublin 4.  Early bird tickets are available here at €191 including VAT for a limited time. Tables of 10 and 12 guests are available.
