Anine Bing launches new collection inspired by 90s fashion ‘it girl’ Kate Moss

Launching the third instalment of her collaboration with iconic British photographer, Terry O’Neill, the new Anine Bing collection is Kate Moss-inspired.

If, like me, you’ve spent most of lockdown steadily adding to your already overflowing wardrobe, then this is sure to be of interest. Particularly if you count yourself as part of the Anine Bing and Kate Moss fan clubs… though who amongst us doesn’t?

Unveiling her latest collection, it comes as the third instalment of the LA-based designer’s collaboration with renowned UK fashion photographer Terry O’Neill. Featuring a photo of 90s fashion ‘it girl’ Kate Moss, the image – carefully chosen by Bing – was captured by O’Neill in March 1993 having spotted her in the office of a local modelling agency. Just 19 at the time, O’Neill said that he knew Moss had something special.

“She just struck me and I knew she’d take a great photo. She just had something incredibly special and I could see that straight away. We arranged a time for a photo shoot – and these are two of the first photos I took of Kate Moss,” he said.

Ida Tee, €99, Anine Bing x Terry O’Neill

The limited-edition collection is available in two styles – the lightweight Ida Tee characterised by its oversized cut and the Ramona Sweatshirt with dropped sleeves and boyfriend silhouette. Works of art in and of themselves, the minimalist design means that the photo takes centre stage.

Speaking ahead of the collection’s launch yesterday, Bing shared a video to her personal Instagram account during the week, in which she said:

“Kate Moss has been such a big inspiration to me throughout the years. She is on all my mood boards in the design studio. I think she is the queen of effortless style, so, I am just extra excited for this beautiful collaboration.”

Crediting Moss as being one of the fashion brand’s most notable muses since its foundation back in 2012, Bing later said that it’s the supermodel’s “cool, confident energy and effortless personal style” that has helped to fuel her creativity.

Available online via the Anine Bing website, the Ida Tee retails for €99, while the Ramona Sweatshirt is priced at €169. If only my budget allowed for one of each…
