WIN your dream garden with An Post Money

Award-winning garden designer Leonie Cornelius and An Post Money are joining forces to give away a free, expert garden consultation and top outdoor design tips.

What does your garden mean to you? In this crazy last year our gardens have become so much more than just pretty pictures.

They have become our escape from an uncertain everyday, places where we eat and grow delicious food, exercise, relax, unwind, for socially distanced meet-ups and where the many facets of our family lives unfold on a daily basis.

With this in mind I think we should celebrate our gardens in a whole new light and start to create gorgeous garden spaces for ourselves and our loved ones for joyful outdoor living this summer.

ENTER TO WIN

Right now, An Post Money are offering one lucky reader the chance to win a one-to-one garden consultation with award-winning garden designer Leonie Cornelius.

This virtual one-hour personal online clinic aims to guide you in starting to plan your dream garden. Perfect for exploiting your ideas and dreams for your space, this session aims to help guide you in the next steps for design.

To enter the competition simply provide your details below:

Sorry, this competition is now closed and no longer receiving entries. Thank you.

Your garden lifestyle

The first thing I would do when designing a garden is to take a look at your garden lifestyle.

Who are you and how do you see yourself living your life in your garden space on an everyday basis?

Painting a picture of this in your mind and dreaming a little of your ideal day in the garden is so valuable. It informs all the choices you make for features, structures, circulation routes and more.

Concept-driven design

Next comes your concept. This should be based on you too – your personal likes and passions, your memories and associations.

It can reference your home style or even pick up on a dream garden space you love or a place you have visited in the past which has stayed with you. The concept wil become invaluable when you start to choose materials, colours, accessories, planting styles and plant choices and much more.

Identify priorities based on your lifestyle and concept. Identifying the things that are vital in your space will help you make decisions on where your money is best spent and most useful.

Once your priorities checklist is right, make a plan for where you might do things over time or even with your own hard work. Then you’ll be much closer to your dream garden space and the money you spend on things like hard landscaping or structures will go so much further.
