The ultimate gift guide for a whiskey lover

Looking for the perfect gift for the whiskey enthusiast in your life? This Christmas gift guide has you covered.

Christmas is fast approaching, and I’ve already begun the search for gifts that will delight my friends and family. My criteria were simple – sumptuous, indulgent gifts that support local Irish businesses – where better to turn than Bushmills?

Bushmills Irish Whiskey is home to the world’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery. Over 400 years later, whiskey is still being made there, thanks to the skilled craftsmanship passed down from generation to generation. Their whiskeys – the single malts especially – are the perfect way to mark a special occasion, and we plan on having lots of them this Christmas.

Nothing says lavish festivity quite like luxury food and drink. So here is what I will be getting my friends and family this Christmas.

For my husband

Bushmills 21 Year Old Single Malt

Bushmills 21 Year Old Single Malt, €210

I need something special for my husband as his birthday falls only two days after Christmas. The Bushmills 21 Year Old whiskey, paired with a set of beautiful tumblers in which to enjoy it, is the perfect way to mark a double celebration. The Bushmills 21 Year Old is carefully aged for a minimum of 19 years in hand-picked Oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels. It’s then finished for an additional two years in Madeira casks, adding a unique depth of flavour. Each bottle of this exceptional whiskey is produced in limited quantities.

For my sister

Bushmills 14 Year Old Single Malt

Bushmills 14 Year Old Single Malt, €70

My sister is a long-time whiskey drinker and this particular bottle is one she will be delighted to add to her collection. Bushmills 14 Year Old Single Malt is unmistakably different. Unlike its sherry-inspired siblings from the wider Bushmills single malt range, it’s exclusively matured in first and second-fill bourbon barrels for a minimum of 14 years, before being finished in rare Malaga casks which add a distinctively exotic fruity profile. This one’s for the adventurous spirit in your life—just like my gorgeous sister.

For my office Secret Santa

A Whiskey at Nancy’s – Soy Candle

A Whiskey at Nancy’s – Soy Candle, €21.04

I love a scented candle, and this is one with a difference. Inspired by Nancy’s Pub in Ardara, Donegal, this candle captures the essence of rich teakwood and honey, highlighting the warm, deep notes of whiskey casks. It also evokes the comforting scent of aged books and soft leather. Each candle is carefully crafted, blended, hand-poured, and finished in County Down.

For my uncle

Bushmills Whiskey Barrel Aged Balsamic

Whiskey

Bushmills Whiskey Barrel Aged Balsamic, €39.95

My uncle is the ultimate foodie, and always spends Christmas time in the kitchen cooking up a storm. This beautiful balsamic vinegar will no doubt inspire a dish or two. Aged for three years in Bushmills whiskey barrels, it offers rich notes of smoke, caramel, and oak. It’s the ideal addition to cocktails, marinades, and dressings. Produced for centuries in the Modena region, the Balsamic Vinegar of Modena is crafted through a distinctive, time-honoured process, resulting in a product unlike any other. The finest grapes from the heart of this region are carefully selected and slowly cooked for hours to create the rich, flavourful grape must.

For my mum

Bushmills Hot Chocolate

Whiskey

Bushmills Hot Chocolate, €20

There is nothing my mum and I love more than sitting down for a chat over a warm cup of something. Add her love of chocolate to that, and this limited-edition Grá Chocolates x Bushmills Black Bush hot chocolate is truly the perfect gift. In collaboration with Bushmills, Gráinne from Grá Chocolates has expertly blended the rich, aromatic notes of Bushmills Black Bush with custom-made velvety chocolate, resulting in the most sumptuous and luxurious hot chocolate ever created.

Bushmills Irish Whiskey has partnered with premium Irish brands and craftspeople to create an exclusive Christmas wishlist.
