Irish Women in Harmony are searching for young female voices to feature on Christmas single

Irish Women in Harmony are on the search for young female singers aged 12 and under to feature on their upcoming Christmas single

One of the best things to come out of lockdown in Ireland was ‘Dreams’ – the debut single by Irish Women In Harmony.

The cover of the Cranberries classic was a heartfelt rendering and brought us all joy in a time of despair.

Featuring artists such as Imelda May, Una Healy, Lisa Hannigan, Saint Sister, and Erica Cody, the song raised money and awareness for the Safe Ireland charity, an organisation that provides support for women and children who are experiencing domestic violence and abuse.

Since its release in June, ‘Dreams’ has grown into a bona fide airplay and streaming hit. The campaign was then rounded off with a sublime, socially-distanced performance on the first show of the returning Late Late Show earlier this month.

On the back of the success, Irish Women In Harmony are now making plans to record and release a Christmas single. To make it extra special, the collective is looking for twelve talented girls, aged twelve years and under, to join them as a tween choir for the recording.

IWIH Harmonizer-In-Chief RuthAnne Cunningham said of the opportunity: “Irish Women In Harmony is all about inspiring young Irish girls to get into music and dream big. When I was younger I always wanted to sing at any opportunity I got, so we’d like to give 12 x 12s-and-under the chance to sing with us on our Christmas project. And we are so excited to hear your submissions.”

The deadline for entries is midnight on Wednesday 30th September.

The twelve winners will be selected by RuthAnne and members of the Irish Women In Harmony project. In line with current government guidelines, all COVID social-distancing measures will be observed for the recording.
