If you haven’t discovered Arket yet, now’s the time as its mid-season sale starts

If you haven’t discovered Arket yet, now’s the time as its mid-season sale starts

Arket opened its online doors and London-based store last year, and since then it has rivalled Cos for the position of coolest brand on the block. Understated silhouettes and pared-back design are its signature, and having been to the London store, I can vouch for the quality of the fabrics – everything feels wonderful to touch. Here are my five favourite pieces from Arket’s current mid-season sale.

This two piece (sold separately) is such an easy outfit to throw on, but it looks chic and well considered. I love this shade of green, which will flatter my pasty Celtic complexion as well as the one below.

Rib knit jersey top, €30 (reduced from €59); rib knit jersey skirt, €30 (reduced from €59)

I love this colourblock sweater. It’s simple and graphic and will work with neutrals as easily as brights. This is a classic piece that will never go out of style.

Organic merino jumper, €45 (reduced from €89)

I can’t get enough of jumpsuits right now. I find them so easy to wear, and, as a one-piece, a little more interesting than a dress. This boiler suit is beautifully tailored, with pockets (always a good thing) and a flattering wide leg.

Polyester crepe boiler suit, €75 (reduced from €150)

I love to pick up knitwear in the sales at this time of year and hold onto it for those first chilly days in September. The solid blue neck, hemline and cuffs of this sweater add a really stylish, distinctive look.

Chunky wool roll-neck jumper, €49 (reduced from €99)

Utilitarian wear has a fashion credibility now that it didn’t have ten years ago, so a robust parka should be part of your year-round sartorial arsenal. This version from Arket is slightly oversized, which I love, and has a drawstring waist, which you can adjust to modify the silhouette.

Fishtail parka, €88 (reduced from €175)
