How To Make A Statement With Knitwear

It’s August, and if you’re not coveting cosy new knits by now, then rest assured, I’m dreaming of them?enough for both of us. Right now,’my wish list features Cos’s Merino asymmetric sleeve scarf, Selected Femme’s mohair knitted cardigan and Maje’s ribbed knit fitted jumper.?But before I’spend all of my AW16 budget, I’m soaking up some street style inspiration. These four women know exactly how to select?knitwear that makes a real statement.

I love how textured this sweater is. It’s slightly old-school but is made perfectly modern when styled with a midi skirt and a punchy red box handbag. Grey can?easily look wishy washy, but choosing a piece with a chunky knit like this gives it added interest.

High necks are a big trend for AW16, and this almost oversized polo neck hammers home that point. There’s nothing shy and retiring about the neckline or the colour. So flattering to Irish skin tones, raspberry red?works so well in an autumn/winter wardrobe, pairing?beautifully with shades of burgundy, camel and green as well as black and tan.

This bomber jacket-cum-cardigan softens the white shirt and denim combination here. I like the hybrid nature of the piece as it makes it more versatile and emphasises the beautiful knit.
