Darren Kennedy on what to expect from this year’s IMAGE Business of Beauty Awards

Excitement for this year’s IMAGE Business of Beauty Awards is already off the charts.

The highly-anticipated event, which celebrates Ireland’s best beauty professionals, is nicknamed the ‘beauty Oscars’ for a reason. Full of glamour, entertainment, prizes and surprises, it’s our way of saying thanks to those at the top of their trade.

With time running out to vote for your favourite salons and beauty professionals (and with some nominees very neck-and-neck), it’s vital you cast your votes now.

What is the Business of Beauty Awards?

Now in its sixth year, IMAGE’s Business of Beauty Awards (affectionately called ‘BOB’ at IMAGE HQ) recognises the best beauty professionals in the industry. Whether it’s hair, skin, make-up or front-of-house, everyone on the shortlist is a true master of their trade.

This year’s ceremony, which is sponsored by Boots, Instax, Easilocks, Bare by Vogue Williams and Flormar, gives Ireland’s top beauty professionals a chance to let their hair down and celebrate their achievements in style.

What to expect this year?

As always, the Business Of Beauty Awards will be a luxury affair. Taking place on March 10 at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, guests can enjoy a delicious cocktail reception from 6:30 pm.

Then, everyone will be guided through to the dining room, where they can indulge in dinner and dancing.

Darren Kennedy will play host on the night, announcing special surprises, gifts and treats; as well as awards for Ireland’s brightest stars in hair, beauty and aesthetics.

A gift bag will be provided to all guests on departure – and let’s not forget the legendary after-party at House, Dublin 2.

‘Absolute mayhem’

With the night inching ever-closer, we caught up with our host (fresh off the dance floor) Darren Kennedy. In the video above, he talks us through the importance of casting your vote, the atmosphere on the night, as well as some of his expert beauty tips.

“Last year, the energy in the room was just insane, and it keeps getting better and better. It’s absolute, utter mayhem,” he says, “but in the best possible way…” See the video above for more.
