‘This face scrub was the only product that reduced my acne’ – and it’s Irish-made

When Ireland’s most stylish man launches a skincare and grooming range, it’s time to take notice, whether you’re a man or a woman.

Lisa Kidney tried every lotion and potion to help reduce her acne in her teens right into adulthood, with little success.

That is, she says until she discovered an Irish-made collection packed with the most natural ingredients sourced from the west of Ireland, that is cruelty-Free, vegan and contains no parabens.

“I’ve suffered since I was 16 and I’m now 39,” says Lisa. “I had pustular acne before, and I still have many lingering scars.

“I have tried antibiotics and very expensive product referrals, but nothing has cleared my skin like this.”

Lisa tried out the latest skincare range on the Irish market, Kennedy & Co, developed by TV presenter and arguably Ireland’s most stylish man, Darren Kennedy.

“After about three weeks of using these products I saw a huge reduction in my scarring and the amount of oiliness building up on my face,” says Lisa.

In particular, Lisa uses the Purifying Peat Face Scrub from the range, which Darren launched in 2018 having developed it with skincare specialists. His idea was simple: to create a range of products that can fit neatly into your every day lifestyle that would leave your skin refreshed and nourished.

“For me, grooming is not just about prepping for a special event,” says Darren. “It’s about using proven products that give you an easy, every day style boost that’s uniquely you.”

Lisa’s confidence has grown so much since using the Kennedy & Co range that she is finally comfortable leaving the house without make-up.

“I still suffer from hormonal breakouts, but I manage these with the Purifying Peat Face Scrub. It really is my holy grail product. It has changed my skin so much,” she says.

“I absolutely adore the Daily Moisturiser as it is so light on the skin and lovely under make-up too.”

The Purifying Peat Face Scrub, which Lisa uses as a spot treatment and overall exfoliator, harnesses the natural exfoliant properties of peat and minerals for the ultimate skin refresh. Darren says the scrub is light enough to use up to five times a week.

It’s also a two-in-one product, working as a face mask by applying a thick layer to dry skin, leaving for 20-25 minutes before washing off.

The Beard Oil, which Lisa mixes with moisturiser for a “mini facial”, is packed with menthol and botanic oils.

Both the Daily Hydrating Moisturiser and Eye Gel are full of vitamin boosts and caffeine to help reduce puffiness and inflammation.

Darren says, “Skincare, and treating acne, is an ongoing process that takes time, consistency, and plenty of experimentation. Though everyone’s skin is different, sometimes what works for one person might just actually work for you too.

“My motto is ‘life is the occasion’. Every day is an opportunity to embrace and shape your own personal look – there’s no need to wait until Saturday night or a black-tie event to look and feel your best.

“The range has done the hard work already. It’s super charged with clinically proven ingredients – an easy every day routine that’s not time-consuming and delivers game-changing grooming results.”

Kennedy & Co also includes a Matte Hair Clay with the active Baicapil™ ingredient, proven to stimulate hair growth and prevent hair loss. The range is designed to suit your every day lifestyle and skincare routine, with every product very reasonably priced less than €13.
