Creative Director’s Notes

The Age Of Beauty

“We want to show that beauty is timeless it doesn’t stop as we age. There is true beauty in ageing gracefully.” – Lawson Mpame and Itchey Drew

Where do you see or find beauty in your life?

In my grandchildren.

What does the word “beauty” mean to you?

Beauty is what you value, and nurture to blossom.

What has been your personal journey with your own beauty?

Tough experiences that culminate in a place of contentment in life’s journey.

Did anything change about your approach to beauty while you were on this project?

Through the project, I observed beauty and was in awe of how diverse beauty is.

What is your favourite thing about yourself?

My big toe. I love to laugh, I find joy in making others laugh too.

Is there anything you wish you could tell your younger self?

Don’t waste your energy in dark places. Follow the light.

What’s the one thing you find very beautiful or attractive in others?

People with a zest or passion for life.

What do you love about yourself?

Acceptance. Embrace with grace what the universe delivers. I’m in a place of contentment.
