My Life in Beauty: Gucci Westman on her beauty must-haves

by Holly O'Neill
22nd Feb 2023

Celebrity make-up artist Gucci Westman, founder of Westman Atelier, shares her beauty must-haves with Holly O’Neill.

The first thing I put on my skin in the morning is water! Some days I exfoliate before I put on any other products – currently, I love Irene Forte.

Irene Forte Almond Face Scrub, €80

Three products I always have in my make-up bag are a Westman Atelier Lip Suede Compact, €91, Westman Atelier Squeaky Clean Liquid Lip Balm, €40, and Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation, €72.

Something that’s always on my nightstand are my glasses and a book.

The last beauty-related thing I do before I go to bed is moisturise, brush my teeth and sometimes use an infrared sauna blanket and my Theragun.

The best beauty advice I ever received was that when everything is consistent and balanced, like eating sensibly, taking care of your skin and exercising, it is always visible.

My lifelong lipstick love is Westman Atelier Lip Suede Compact, €91! From formula to finish, to experience, it is the best lipstick I have ever used.

The foundation I always use or always return to is Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation, €72.

I’ve always wanted to go very blonde – and I will, I am just not sure when!

The beauty appointment I never miss is the Intracel with PRP facial with Dr. Marmur in New York City.

The first beauty product I ever bought was a Lancôme tinted moisturizer. It was a darker shade to make myself tan!

The worst beauty mistake I ever made was tweezing my eyebrows too much and tanning beds, I will forever regret it.

The first perfume I loved was Annick Goutal Eau d’Hadrien, 50ml, €87.

I never travel without my Westman Atelier x Métier London Train Case, €500, filled with my Westman Atelier products, skincare and vitamins.

I take my make-up off with Symbiome The Renewal Daily Cleanser, €57, or Tammy Fender Cleansing Milk, €57.

My weird make-up hack is the way I do skin – I focus on the area in need rather than overall application.

My 3 hair favourites are the brands David Mallett and Harklinikken and Rahua Color Full Shampoo, €40.95 and Conditioner, €42.95.

To me, being healthy means listening to your body, being consistent, being intuitive and being disciplined.

I love a lot of places for different reasons – I’d say my favourite place is where I feel connected with family and friends, and the environment. I still have a lot of places on my bucket list!
