Isabel Gleeson: A week in my wardrobe

Isabel Gleeson: A week in my wardrobe

An Irish stylist and the founder of ReBride, a platform that allows brides to buy and resell their wedding dresses online, Isabel Gleeson has always loved fashion. Here she shares a week in her wardrobe with us.

MONDAY

Monday is always a work-from-home day – which means I have lots of calls and meetings starting from 8:30am. I get up early and plan my working week ahead using my Head Plan agenda. I will always plan my outfits for the week too during this time, this takes a lot of stress out of getting ready in the morning when I have it all laid out and ready to go. I usually wear something really comfortable on a Monday like a tracksuit or an oversized knit. This particular Monday I am wearing a double denim look. I picked this two-piece up in H&M and have teamed it with some New Balance 327 trainers for a comfortable yet well-put-together outfit.

TUESDAY

Tuesday, I venture into the office in town. I am wearing a Kitri Studio tile print dress. I have a lot of Kitri dresses in this shape and find them amazing as they are so easy to wear. This dress is vintage inspired yet feels very timeless! I love its billowy sleeves. They’re real “throw on and go” pieces. I feel this dress nails a smart casual office dress code. I usually pair it with black knee-high boots but I also wear it going into spring with trainers. I like to think about my cost per wear when I am shopping, – something like this dress is a good example of a piece I will wear a lot and feel confident in, so I know it is a good investment at the time of purchase.

WEDNESDAY

Another day in the office today full of desk work and meetings, so I want to look presentable! This dress is an extremely versatile piece from Australian designer Steele. This is a go-to dress for me and I wear it every couple of weeks. I love the dark base and how it is perfect for autumn/winter. The ruched bodice is really flattering too! I put together a colour consultation, which is a report that highlights which colours suit me best and why, so I know this dark brown colour is one of the best colours for me.

THURSDAY

We are getting closer to the weekend! I love these easy-to-wear shirts from Zara for work. I have added fun accessories to today’s look. My blue Prada bag is one of the most special pieces in my wardrobe. I use it a lot as I like to get good wear out of it – there is no point saving items you love only for big occasions! Nearly all of my earrings are from Avoca, they are at a really good price point yet feel like great quality. This Thursday I am meeting friends after a full day in the office.

FRIDAY

On Fridays, I work from home and spend time adding new preloved dresses to my website ReBride. I am going on a date night after work so I opted for this Topshop black dress. I love how unique the design is and the fact that it has sleeves! It is perfect for this time of year and could also be worn with tights for extra warmth. I wear this dress with the same boots I have been wearing to work as they can be dressed up and down.

SATURDAY

Today I plan on doing some work in the morning and then heading out to a birthday lunch. I picked up this outfit from Zar and I feel it looks very designer. What a great high street find! I know this patchwork skirt is a piece that I will have in my wardrobe for many seasons to come. I wear a lot of colour usually, so it’s nice to have some neutrals on for a change. I also took some content for my Styled by Isabel Instagram page while wearing this look. I am usually more casual on the weekend but I also love an excuse to get dressed up and see friends!

SUNDAY

We are in the process of moving house so it will be a productive Sunday of moving boxes and getting my new wardrobe and office set up! I popped on this vintage-inspired Rixo floral top and these straight-leg H&M jeans for today. I love the loose fit and know I’ll feel really comfortable all day. I am usually in my pyjamas early on a Sunday, planning next week’s outfits and so the cycle starts again!
