Shoes and handbag alert: White accessories are (almost) over, now it’s all about light blue

by Marie Kelly
15th Aug 2018

Firstly, do not ditch the white kitten-heel ankle boots you’ve only just gotten up the courage to buy, and will soon summon up the courage to wear. White accessories were never the easiest trend to buy into, were they? (That constant worry about keeping them clean and those deep-rooted fears you’ll look like either A. a 1980s Top Of The Pops throwback or B. Melanie Griffith in Working Girl before the makeover.)

The white accessories trend isn’t over, but it is on the wane, so if you want to get ahead of the sartorial curve, start visualising handbags and shoes in shades of blanket blue and eggshell. Here’s a few ideas to start with.

The perfect court shoe from Zara.

Suede court shoes, €49.95 at Zara

A pretty crossbody bag from Topshop.

A cool, contemporary sock boot from Uterque.

An elegant fold-over bag from & Other Stories.

A chunky shoe in a delicate shade at Uterque.
