This Is Why Kate Middleton Can Walk So Effortlessly In High Heels

This Is Why Kate Middleton Can Walk So Effortlessly In High Heels

Kate Middleton Heels

When Kate Middleton appeared at her daughter Princess Charlotte’s Christening recently all glowing and gliding in what were very high-heeled shoes on very uneven grassy footing, many wondered how she was able to do it. She was clearly pushing a heavy pram (of which there is now a four-month waiting list).

Now her secret has been revealed, and we’re betting many will be following Kate’s (comfortable) footsteps. According to Vanity Fair, the secret to the Duchess of Cambridge’s pain-free feet are thanks to leather inner soles.

The 33-year-old royal is said to be a fan of Alice Bow insoles – slip-in inner soles – which apparently save the Duchess’s feet on a regular basis.

Made by British designer Rachel Bowditch, the inner soles fit any shoe and are said to make wearing high heels comfortable, even if you’re in them for hours on end. Sounds good to us.

Kate is said to have purchased several pairs because she finds them so comfortable, and the company told Royal Watch it has seen a “massive surge” in sales, most likely in thanks to its new royal customer.

To be fair, she does always look super comfortable while wearing those heels.

The insoles are all handmade in Britain from fine Italian leather and promise “long lasting comfort and confidence.”

A spokesman for the company said: “There has been talk of the Duchess wearing the insoles, but we cannot comment either way. We have seen a massive surge in site visits, however.” This is no doubt down to their newest royal fan.

The shoes you won’t be seeing Kate out and about in, however? Wedges. Yep, the Duchess, is said to not like these in terms of footwear any longer, but you know, when we look at Kate, we don’t automatically think “wedges,” so she obviously knows what suits her. She’s obviously worn plenty of wedges in the past, but if reports are to be believed, she has apparently gone off them, thanks to a certain member of the royal family.

“The Queen isn’t a fan of wedged shoes,” added a source. “She really doesn’t like them and it’s well known among the women in the family.” So, should you ever want to bestow a gift to Kate, it’s good to know what not to buy her? at least in the shoes department.

We like the sounds of this though, have you any other secrets for staying comfortable in your favourite pair of heels?
