Sharon Stone Poses Nude At 57 And Looks Amazing

Iconic actress Sharon Stone is featured in a spread in the latest edition of Harper’s Bazaar wearing, well, nothing, but she looks amazing. Looking at the pictures, you would be forgiven for thinking that the Basic Instinct star is a lot younger than her 57 years. The nude pictures mark a new beginning for Stone, who suffered an aneurysm in 2001 and a subsequent cerebral haemorrhage that lasted nine days. The result was that Stone was left stuttering, limping, and unable to read. Recovery took years, and in the revealing interview, Stone talks about what she describes as a fall from grace, and how she climbed her way back up again.

“I thought, ‘You know what? I got thrown off the bullet train, and now I’m going to have to crawl up a hill of broken glass, get back on the train that’s going a million miles an hour, and work my way from the cattle car up. That’s just the way it is, so I’d better get humble and shut the f**k up and do the job. Because if I can’t do this job, I’m certainly not going to be able to do anything else,?” she said.

Stone became a sensation (and a sex symbol), following her lead role in the €92 erotic thriller Basic Instinct, opposite Michael Douglas, and she was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress in Martin Scorsese’s Casino, but spent the last number of years drifting in and out of the spotlight. She says her illness has changed her completely.

?It almost feels like my entire DNA changed. My brain isn’t sitting where it used to, my body type changed, and even my food allergies are different.? On the plus side, ?I became more emotionally intelligent. I chose to work very hard to open up other parts of my mind. Now I’m stronger. And I can be abrasively direct. That scares people, but I think that’s not my problem. It’s like, I have brain damage; you’ll just have to deal with it,? she said.

“I’m not trying to be the best-looking broad in the world. At a certain point you start asking yourself, ‘What really is sexy?’ It’s not just the elevation of your boobs. It’s being present and having fun and liking yourself”

We think it’s incredibly brave of her to pose nude and speak so openly about her illness. But, she’s down-to-earth when it comes to body image and her sexy on-screen persona. ?”I’m aware that my ass looks like a bag of flapjacks,” she jokingly added. “But I’m not trying to be the best-looking broad in the world. At a certain point you start asking yourself, ‘What really is sexy?’ It’s not just the elevation of your boobs. It’s being present and having fun and liking yourself enough to like the person that’s with you. If I believed that sexy was trying to be who I was when I did Basic Instinct, then we’d all be having a hard day today.”

After a low point in 2010, while filming Law & Order SVU – “Having worked with the finest people in the industry, I was like, ‘Wow, I’m really at the back of the line here. I’m wearing L’eggs panty hose, and in makeup they start out by putting this white primer on my face.’ I’m like, ‘This is so bad. What did I do to deserve this?’ ” – She’s now back in the limelight again. Stone will star in and executive-produce a new series on TNT called Agent X, in which she plays the vice president of the United States.
