The Viktor&Rolf for Specsavers collection is next-level chic

The Viktor&Rolf for Specsavers collection is next-level chic

The iconic Dutch fashion house Viktor&Rolf has unveiled its latest exclusive eyewear collection at Specsavers

My eyesight is bad, very bad. This is no exaggeration. When I take off my glasses, the world around me is blurred and it is safe to say I am a threat to myself and others.

I don’t have a bedside table and so would place my trusty glasses on the bed next to me. However, soon a habit developed where I would roll over and thus break the glasses in two with the weight of my body.

Buying expensive frames was a dangerous game. My current pair cost me €20 and while not the most stylish, they do the job and more – but I miss the excitement of a stylish pair. I want more than just a plain black frame. I want chic but slightly ostentatious frames that add a little something to my everyday life.

And I think I have found the answer.

Iconic Dutch fashion house Victor&Rolf have unveiled a collection of 15 frames and three sunglasses exclusively at Specsavers. The range is exquisite and is a reflection of Victor&Rolf’s avant-garde aesthetic. Yet, they’re still wearable and there is something available for every taste.

Kiran Sondhi, Specsavers head of frame buying, says: “The team at Specsavers feel very privileged to launch this fantastic collection and to work with Viktor&Rolf. The Viktor&Rolf brand continues to achieve phenomenal success on the global stage, and we are proud to be able to bring this beautifully designed eyewear range to our customers at an accessible price.”

Traditional shapes and colours are reinvented in shades of burgundy, bright yellow, silver and gold in acetates and polished metals. Three key themes are included throughout the collection including patchwork story, sculptural story and evening story.

Viktor&Rolf said of the collaboration: “Working on this collection has been a great experience. It has allowed us to push the boundaries in optical trends, just as we have always done for the garments we create. Everyone in the Viktor&Rolf Vision team is really excited to release this collection at Specsavers and sees this as the start of a wonderful future in eyewear.”

For a designer brand, the price point is refreshingly accessible with prices starting at €239. The full collection of specs will launch in Specsavers stores nationwide and online on Monday, February 10.

Here are our top picks from the collection.
