Priyanka Chopra got married in a series of incredible wedding outfits

Actress Priyanka Chopra and singer Nick Jonas tied officially the knot in a series of ceremonies incorporating their individual cultures at the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India this weekend.

For the Mehendi ritual, Chopra wore a beautiful, multi-coloured Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla gown, with the designer revealing on Instagram that Chopra’s “fabulously folksy, multi-hued organdy ensemble” was “inspired by a vintage AJSK collection.”

The bride’s jewellery was also designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla  and is described as “an exceptional Heirloom piece of very fine rubies collected over generations.”

The groom wore an aqua bakhiya kurta, also by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.

The couple, who announced their engagement in 2017, explained that a favourite part of their special day was getting to celebrate a mixture of their differing cultures, resulting in a true amalgamation of both.

“One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other’s faiths and cultures. And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing. An important part for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi,” the couple wrote on Instagram. “Once again we made it our own and it was an afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed.”

Chopra looks radiant and the couple looks utterly joyful in all the behind-the-scenes photos of the day.

Mehendi is a Hindu wedding ritual in which the women in the bride and groom’s families, along with close friends, gather together while the bride has elaborate henna designs applied to her hands and feet.

The newlyweds have yet to share images from the wedding ceremony but Ralph Lauren confirmed via Instagram that the pair wore the American label for the more traditional wedding ceremony of the festivities, which they also had after the Mehendi was finished. The Christian ceremony was officiated by the groom’s father, Paul Kevin Jonas.
