It’s Cara for Topshop!

By IMAGE
28th Jul 2014

Cara Delevingne, the 21-year old supermodel whose name you’ve learned to pronounce by now, has added another notch to her campaign belt. From fronting Mulberry collections to sashaying down catwalks with Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld, wherever there is a high fashion house Cara isn’t far behind and now she’s the first solo face of Topshop. While the rumours were swirling all year and confirmed in June, today marks the campaign’s anticipated debut.

The model’s meteoric rise has been marked by media frenzy over her private life – which she ably deflects – and a rabid fan base that follows and approves her every risqu? action on Twitter and Instagram. It’s through her personal social media accounts that the real Cara shows – it’s a carnival of casual wear, madcap facial expressions, foreign climes, and her pet bunny Cecil. Her partnership with Topshop seems practically inevitable with Kate Phelan, Topshop’s creative director and the shoot stylist, describing Cara as a “true Topshop girl.”

The famous rabbit even appears in the kooky campaign video which you can watch below – it includes lightsabers also. The beautiful and bright images were photographed by Alasdair McLellan and so far we love what we see. Here at Image.ie have to hand it to Cara and Topshop – that parka has us looking forward to Autumnal weather and an excuse to buy something cosy?

So what do you think – is Cara the perfect face for the high street Mecca? Or is the ad a bit Ab Fab?
