Clueless writer and directr Amy Heckerling recently hinted that a Clueless Broadway musical might be in the works and first to approach her for the role of 90’s icon Cher Horowitz was none other than Katy Perry.

Amongst the many reasons Perry is suited to the role of Cher such as her ‘California Girl’ aura, and her famous singing voice, we here at IMAGE think we know the real reason Katy is interested: ?it has to be the outfits. No stranger to some out-there get-ups herself, how perfect would Perry look in the famous yellow tartan two-piece, or a slinky spaghetti strap 90’s dress with a see-through shirt or feathered coat, or how about that beret and thigh-high socks look Cher rocked so well?

And it’s not just Katy Perry who’s fantasizing about Cher’s wardrobe, given the recent 90’s revival in fashion. Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX recreated the looks in their video for the song of the summer ‘Fancy’. And even us normal people can get in on the Clueless aspirations, after online technology company Metail.com recently developed a wardrobe app just like Cher’s!
