The denim revolution is upon us and the?rulebook has been ripped up by designers for the new season. With changing shapes and a fresh range of fashion forward styles, its time to say goodbye to skinny jeans and welcome denim in all it’s diversity. Whether it’s the new cropped flare or frayed hems, there is something for everyone in this denim revolt of 2016.

So, we’ve called upon three of Ireland’s fashion insiders – stylist Corina Gaffey, fashion blogger Lauren Arthurs, and instagram style sensation Emma Zoey Roche?-?to help you shop the perfect denim pieces and reveal their new-season favourites.

For spring, I’m all about the shorter length denims, like the cropped culottes at Dries Van Noten and Chloe. Worn with a printed ankle boot or a structured sandal, they’re?a refreshing shape and they show off your shoes beautifully! When buying’denim for myself, I love M.I.H and Whistles for premium denim, but I mainly shop the high street. River Island Molly jeans and Topshop’s Jamie are my go-to styles. I love Marques Almedia’s modern take on denim dresses and its?raw-edge finishes. They?add an edge. Also,?I just spied the Michael Kors AW16 show?and there is a pair of feathery denim jeans that are what dreams are made of. They’ll be on my wishlist for autumn!

My favourite denim pieces this season (and every year) are’denim mini dresses and light denim shirts – they’re so gorgeous and effortless looking.?River Island and Topshop are my go-to for denim jeans. The fit is always perfectly snug for all figure types. I love that they both stock short leg jeans too, as I’m quite petite and I love a good ankle grazer.

Penneys is always great for denim shirts. I have my eye on the cutest frayed hem denim dress. I am definitely a high street gal and pick up bits and pieces on a weekly basis from Penneys, H&M, River Island etc. Although, I do love a regular visit to Kildare Village Outlet for a designer bargain in Calvin Klein, DKNY and Kate Spade!

Last season I was absolutely crazy about frayed denim but?I don’t see this trend going anywhere for SS16. I bought?an amazing Marques Almeida inspired frayed denim coat from Monki that’s been sitting in my wardrobe for way too long waiting for the sun!?Although I’m not quite brave enough to commit fully to the seventies flare, I definitely intend to pick up a pair of straight leg kick-flare jeans from Topshop,?which?were recently featured in its “Meet Your New Jeans” SS16 denim campaign.

Topshop is my favourite place to shop on the high street. Urban Outfitters also stock Cheap Monday spray-on jeans, which are a super reliable every day skinny jean.?Junya Wantanabe’s relaxed patchwork creations give me so much inspiration. My first denim purchase of the new season was a patchwork denim skirt from Zara that had definite Junya vibes.
