Fashion Director’s cut: 5 street style looks I’m buying into for AW19

Fashion Director’s cut: 5 street style looks I’m buying into for AW19

Street style offers an unending source of style information and ideas. Here’s the five looks IMAGE fashion director Marie Kelly is buying into for the season.

Boilersuits

I can’t get enough of boilersuits this season. I’ve never been an overly enthusiastic wearer of dresses, yet some days, like most other women, I want a one-piece that ticks all the boxes but requires very little effort. My favourite boilersuit on the high street right now is the Topshop Boutique version, below.

Denim boilersuit, Boutique €98 at topshop.com

White knee-high boots

The best thing I bought last year was a pair of white ankle boots from Office. They brought a modernity and freshness to so many outfits, so this month I’m investing in a pair of white knee-highs. The best pair I’ve seen are from Zara, below.

Leather high heel boots, €119 at Zara

Check trousers

Slouchy trousers have become my new favourite thing to wear, and I love the boyishness that a check pattern brings to this look. I recently found a pair in Atrium in the Powerscourt Townhouse centre, below, which I can’t stop wearing.

Check pants, €129 at Atrium

Colourful knits

I like to embrace colour come autumn/winter as it lifts my mood immediately. Last week, I discovered a gorgeous Second Female sweater in Divine boutique in Maynooth, which I love and find goes with everything. It’s not yet on the Divine website (divine.ie), but below is the cardigan version, available from Second Female online.

Lucca cardigan, €199 at secondfemale.com

Burgundy

In all honesty, I buy into burgundy every winter whether it’s a street style hit or not. It suits my complexion and it’s an easy shade to wear with winter’s dark neutrals. I adore this head-to-toe burgundy look, below, from Cos; especially the skirt, which has a wonderfully modern texture to it.

Roll-neck, €59; panelled A-line skirt, €135; both at Cos
