Smart Casual is IMAGE’s first fashion podcast, in collaboration with Kildare Village. In our bi-weekly chats, we examine why we wear the clothes we do and deal with personal style in a way that speaks to you

We’re all guilty of overthinking (and overpacking) our holiday wardrobes, but this week’s Smart Casual is there to help you combat the endless battle of ‘just one more sundress’. Our hosts this week are discussing how our style changes up when we move across climates, and, especially as we aren’t exactly blessed with glorious sunshine every summer, the heat can really throw a curveball at our carefully curated look. But fear not; a summer holiday is a chance to go all out, and experiment with a glamourous and extravagant new look — if you can’t channel holiday glamour with a frozen cocktail in hand, when can you?

Our guest this week is someone who definitely knows about glamour — Kate Synnott, and Irish celebrity make-up artist based in L.A, lives in year-round sunshine, painting the faces of some of the biggest names in the fashion industry, including Ashley Graham, Cara Delevigne, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, and so many more. Over the phone from her home in the U.S, Kate chats to Sarah about life in the fast lane of high fashion beauty, how her Irish sense of humour has taken her far, and her best advice for starting out in the world of editorial beauty.

Episode 23 of Smart Casual, in collaboration with Kildare Village, is available now on SoundCloud and iTunes – make sure to like, subscribe and rate us wherever you enjoy your podcasts. Smart Casual is hosted by Marie Kelly, Édaein O’Connell and Sarah Rickard and produced by Erin Lindsay. If you can’t wait to download, have a listen to the new episode below:
